The Ur-Quan enslave all whom they encounter. They offer each defeated species a choice: serve in the Hierarchy's fleet or be exiled to their homeworld for now and forever. Only one Ur-Quan serves aboard each Dreadnought, the remaining crew being filled by Battle Thralls. All Dreadnoughts are equipped with small fighters.   

The "Gray-type" Dreadnought was the third type encountered by Alliance forces during the war. This model was equipped with a medium-range ion cannon, and was typically loaded with "Snowflake" fighters. The "Snowflakes" typically were sent to a target, where they unloaded their ordinance and waited in a holding/evasion pattern until picked up by the Dreadnought.
